Sambazon Acai Sorbet
Below is a review of the Sambazon Organic
Acai Sorbet Strawberry Samba. This pint of Sambazon's Acai
Sorbet calls itself “strawberry Samba,” but in fact the
strawberry flavor in it is very subtle, with Acai taking the
center stage. In fact you might not be able to detect any
strawberry at all, and in the ingredients list on the side here
it comes in 3rd with Acai 1st and green cane juice sweetener in
2nd.

This frozen pint of
multi-purpose acai pulp blend is part of
Sambazon's sorbet line, and it's been featured
in my local whole foods freezer for years now,
so it's apparently been selling well.
It does have 8 grams of fat
per serving, which is 1 quarter of the pint, or
a half Cup. However, the vast majority of it's
fat grams come directly from the Acai berry
itself, being very rich in Omega 3, 6, & 9
fatty acids, which are all very good for
you.

Of course there is no trans fat in this
whole pint, and the 13 grams of sugar per serving is primarily
from the young cane juice sweetener.

I've carved some for you
here after letting it thaw a bit. It's very
important to do so because while it's still
frozen, acai pulp can be chalky and dry, even
with other additives like strawberry and cane
juice.
As you can see it's much
better now while thawed out, and it tastes
great, a lot like a fruity smoothie of dark
berries and perhaps some chocolate.

Since Sambazon is one of the world's biggest
suppliers of Acai, you can expect for this sorbet to be packed
with antioxidants, as they pride themselves on freezing the
berry pulp fresh at the source.
Again, you can grab a pint of Sambazon's
Strawberry Samba Acai Sorbet from your local health food store.
I picked this one up for about 5 dollars and it's lasted me
longer than I thought it would, with no complaints.
